The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (abbr. QSD, also known as the Quad) is an informal strategic forum between Australia, India, Japan and the United States and that is maintained by semi-regular summits, information exchanges and military drills between member countries.

In my article, “Resilience, Morality, and Solidarity in Sweden: Societal and National Security through Civil Preparedness” published with Security Dialogue, I offer a genealogical analysis of how the population and individual citizens are incorporated in the management of societal and national security that expands the notion of total defense beyond war situations and state of exceptions.

Security Dialogue seeks to revisit and recast the concept of security through new approaches and methodologies. It encourages ground-breaking reflection on new and traditional security issues such as globalization, nationalism, ethnic conflict and civil war, information technology, biological and chemical warfare, resource conflicts, pandemics, global terrorism, non-state actors and environmental and human security. Security Dialogue is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes scholarly articles which combine contemporary theoretical analysis with challenges to public policy across a wide-ranging field of security studies. The journal is owned by the Peace Research Institute Oslo which also hosts the editorial office.
